About Doris

Doris Mangion nee’ Cardona was born in June 1966, and lived in Sliema until she married Alfred in 1989. They currently live in Pembroke, Malta, with their two sons André and Jeanluc.

Doris studied Art at the Malta School of Art in Valletta, specializing in Fine Arts Painting. She concluded a two-year Foundation course under the tutorship of artists Alfred Caruana Ruggier and Anthony Portelli. Continuing with a three-year Diploma Course under the tutorship of artists Anthony Sciberras and Joseph M. Micallef. She was awarded a Merit on concluding and obtaining the Diploma in Fine Arts Painting in June 2010.

To date, Doris has exhibited in various galleries, mainly collective exhibitions held at Palazzo De La Salle in Valletta, Bank of Valletta Head Office in Sta Venera, Mater Dei Hospital, Razzett Markiz in Mosta, Auberge D'Italie and the Ministry of Social Services in Valletta, Cavallieri Hotel in St Julians, Mdina Local Council, Ibraġ Parish Church Hall and the Gozo Ministry in Gozo amongst many others. Most recently she exhibited at the Parliament, where she participated in a Christmas Art exhibition which was organized by the Malta Tourism Authority.

Her paintings include land and seascapes, sacred art and geometric abstract amongst others, some of which have found a place in Maltese homes.
